Rochester Hills, MI – North Oakland Dance Company, established in 2021, opened their new location on Walton Boulevard on July 7, 2022. A proud Rochester High School alumna, owner Beckie Young, has been teaching in the Rochester area for 30 years. Miss Beckie saw the need for a local dance studio that keeps students happy and safe while learning age and developmentally appropriate technique at both the recreational and elite competitive levels.

North Oakland Dance Company offers various recreational classes for ages 18 months to 18 years, as well as adults. Dance offerings include Parent/Tot, Creative Movement, Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Hip Hop, Pointe, Contemporary, Cheer/Pom, Acro, a community performance team, and an elite competitive team.

Proudly, North Oakland Dance Company is the only Youth Protection Advocates in Dance certified studio in Oakland County. In addition to all staff undergoing Background Checks and being First Aid/CPR Certified, each staff member has been through training in Injury Prevention, Sexual Abuse Awareness & Prevention, Body Image, Nutrition, & Disordered Eating, Developmentally Appropriate Artistry, Social Media Safety & Today’s Dance Culture, and Bullying & Conflict Resolution.  

To celebrate North Oakland Dance Company’s Walton Boulevard location, the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce will honor North Oakland Dance Company with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, August 29th at 4:00 pm.  The event will take place at North Oakland Dance Company at 1390 Walton Boulevard in Rochester Hills.
