DESCRIPTION:The Harmony in the Hills Concert Series\n\nPresents the Violinist Fabiola Kim and Pianist Amy I-Lin Cheng\n\n \n\nJanuary 7\, 2025\n\nInternationally renowned violinist Fabiola Kim and acclaimed pianist Amy I-Lin Cheng will open the 2025 Harmony in the Hills Concert Series. The FREE concert will be held on Sunday\, February 16 at 3 p.m.in the Sanctuary of St. Paul's United Methodist Church\, located at 620 Romeo Street\, Rochester\, Ml. Admission is FREE\, but donations are gratefully accepted.\n\n \n\nHailed by the New York Times as "a brilliant soloist\," who "played with extraordinary precision and luminosity\," violinist Fabiola Kim enjoys a dynamic and versatile career as a soloist\, chamber musician\, recording artist\, and pedagogue. Her recent album\, "1939\," with the Munich Symphony and Kevin John Edusei\, has received international acclaim from BBC magazine\, The Strad Magazine\, Gramaophone\, American Record Guide and many others. She made her concerto debut at the age of seven\, just 3 years after beginning to play the violin. She has won various awards and competitions\, including being the youngest in history to win the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra's Concerto Competition. She was recently appointed Assistant Professor of Violin at the University of Michigan School of Music\, Theatre and Dance.\n\n \n\nAmy I-Lin Cheng has appeared on concert stages in the United States\, Germany\, Switzerland\, Denmark\, Taiwan\, Brazil\, Canada\, France and Israel. She was described by the New York Concert Review as a pianist whose "control of the keyboard is complete\, technique easy and relaxed with a wide range of touch." She has presented recitals at venues such as the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston\, Merkin Concert Hall\, in New York City\, Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall and National Concert Hall in Taipei. She is a dedicated chamber musician who enjoys collaborating with others and is highly sought artist. She is an Assistant Professor of Music-Piano and Piano Chamber Coordinator at the University of Michigan School of Music Theatre and Dance.\n\n \n\nHarmony in the Hills Concert Series is offered by St. Paul's United Methodist Church and features the finest local and international talent in classical\, jazz and gospel music.
