OU INC\, a part of the School of Engineering and Computer Science\, is a Michigan SmartZone Innovation Incubator.  Ms. Butler leads OU INC in Its mission to advance the economic strength of the region by transitioning industry and university innovations into commercial success.  To achieve this mission\, they provide entrepreneurial resources and strategic business solutions for accelerating ideas to markets focused in medical device\, energy\, and information technology industries.  OU INC\, an NBIA designated International Soft Landing Facility serves both domestic and international businesses.   \n\n\n\nShe is a Certified Business Incubator Manager through the NBIA and presently serves on the International Visitors Center Detroit Board of Directors\, the Energy Services Coalition Board of Directors\, the Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council\, and the Michigan Business Incubator Association. She previously served as Chair of the Lansing Community College Alternative Energy Advisory Committee\; the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board\, and on the Board of the National Association of State Energy Offices.\n\n\n\nMs. Butler is principle of her own company\, Performance Energy Consulting\, LLC and has she served 32 years with the state of Michigan.  Her roles included: Director of the Bureau of Energy Systems in the Department of Energy\, Labor\, and Economic Growth and the Director of the Environmental Science and Services Division in the Department of Environmental Quality. \n\n\n\nHer leadership has delivered real solutions to energy\, environmental\, and economic challenges utilizing best practices and the creation of energy programs spurring innovation and sprouting new businesses. She is a recognized international speaker on Michigan energy\, sustainability\, and economic transformation policies.
