DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with the 25th anniversary of the September 11\, 2001 terrorist attacks\, and Meadow Brook Theatre's production of Come From Away Meadow Brook Theatre will host a powerful\, one-night-only fundraising event on March 23 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will be a moderated panel hosted by Artistic Director\, Travis Walter featuring four special guests from Newfoundland whose real-life experiences inspired the Broadway hit Come From Away. The evening will conclude with a reception for all in attendance\n\nThe theatre welcomes the following guests:\n\n	Claude Elliott\, Mayor of Gander\n	Derm Flynn\, Mayor of Appleton\n	Oz Fudge\, Constable in Gander\n	Brian Mosher\, News Reporter from Gander\n\n During this special evening\, the Newfoundlanders will share personal reflections and firsthand stories from those extraordinary days   offering a rare opportunity to hear directly from the individuals whose kindness captured the world's attention.\n\nThese distinguished guests were among the community leaders and residents who sprang into action when 38 planes carrying nearly 7\,000 passengers were unexpectedly diverted to the town of Gander following the closure of U.S. airspace on 9/11. For five days\, the people of Gander and neighboring communities provided food\, shelter\, comfort\, and compassion to thousands of stranded travelers.\n\nMeadow Brook Theatre's production of the Broadway smash hit Come From Away\, running from March 18t   April 12\, tells the remarkable true story of the planes grounded in Newfoundland and the bonds formed between locals and the "come from aways." Written ten years after the attacks\, the musical celebrates humanity\, resilience\, and the enduring power of generosity in the face of tragedy.\n\nTickets for this special fundraising event are $30 and are available through the Meadow Brook Theatre box office.
