DESCRIPTION:String\, woodwind\, brass\, and percussion instrumentalists\, ages 7-18\, who are interested in advancing their musical skills\, are invited to audition for membership in Oakland Youth Orchestras (OYO).\n\nSpring audition signup\, for the 2023-2024 season\, begins April 3\, 2023 online at www.oyomi.org and extends through May 21\, 2023. Merit and financial-need scholarships are available. Auditions will be held via Zoom.\n\nThe four orchestras that comprise OYO serve nearly 350 students in grades two through twelve from Oakland\, Genesee\, Macomb\, Sanilac\, St. Clair and Lapeer counties. Tiffany Palmer\, OYO parent. \n\nAbout Oakland Youth Orchestras\n\nThe mission of OYO is to inspire student musicians by providing an exceptional orchestral experience to public\, private and home schooled students in a premier orchestra program.\n\nOYO facilitates student musicians to progress in their music abilities under the tutelage of highly qualified conductors with extensive performance and music education backgrounds.\n\nOYO also fosters musical enrichment through 3 concerts with over 300 members\, chamber opportunities\, out-reach recitals\, small ensembles\, solo performances and competitions.\n\nOakland Youth Orchestras has been educating and enriching youth through music since 1975.
