DESCRIPTION:RAHS presents "Rochester in the 1920s" with Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm Manager Patrick McKay on Thursday\, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Rochester Hills Public Library. Using museum archives and newspaper collections\, McKay will reveal how the 1920s roared through our community. The decade was one of change\, when many Americans owned cars\, radios\, and telephones for the first time. The cars brought the need for good roads and bridges and the radio brought the world closer to home. The decade also ushered in an era of Prohibition\, new technologies\, as well as mass production that led to a vibrant consumer culture\, stimulating economic growth. Come and find out how Rochester\, Michigan\, was affected by these events and how those events from nearly a century ago are still evident today.\n\n\n\nThis program is free and open to the public.
