SUMMARY:Rochester-Avon Historical Society Presents "A Lively Town of Rochester\, Michigan" DVD Film at Lunchtime Program
DESCRIPTION:The Rochester-Avon Historical Society will present Part II of the film\, "The Lively Town of Rochester\, Michigan" by John Boeberitz on Tuesday\, Oct. 1 at 12 p.m. at the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm Calf Barn. Originally\, the film was a slide and audio tour of historical Rochester created in 1976. In the 1990s\, the Rochester Hills Museum put the slides and audio recording into a DVD format.\n\n\n\nBoeberitz was the Chairman of the 1969 Rochester Centennial Celebration and known at that time as "Mr. Rochester." Incorporating vintage photos\, he takes the viewer on an interesting journey down the west side of Main Street. Part II of the video presentation will run for about one hour and has not been shown publicly in recent years\, so don't miss this opportunity to view it. It is a fascinating snapshot of a town and residents created by a man who did a lot of historical research in preparation for the 1969 centennial\, an event that inspired the creation of the Rochester-Avon Historical Society\, now celebrating its fiftieth anniversary.\n\n\n\nThe program is free. Reservations are not required and the public is invited. Bring lunch to eat\; complimentary cookies and coffee provided.
