DESCRIPTION:Rochester-Avon Historical Society Presents Fourth Annual Mount Avon Cemetery Walk & History Tour The Rochester-Avon Historical Society (RAHS) will present its fourth annual Mount Avon Cemetery Walk & History Tour on Saturday\, Sept. 26 from 1-5 p.m. The event combines community theatre and local history in a fun\, entertaining living history presentation. This year's tour features "Women in the Stones." Reenactors will portray several historical female figures from the community's past. Each one will share with tour attendees the character's unique experiences in shaping Rochester's history. The event will also include a chance to tour Mount Avon's restored 1925 mausoleum. The cemetery walk is always family-friendly and promises to be enjoyable for both school-age children (ages 5 and up) and adults. . Tours will be held rain or shine.  The Mount Avon Cemetery Walk is presented by the Rochester Avon Historical Society and is supported by the generous sponsorships of Rochester Hills Chrysler Jeep Dodge\, Pixley Funeral Home and Potere-Modetz Funeral Home.

LOCATION:Timed tours will depart from the MUNICIPAL PARKING LOT at Third and Walnut streets\, and not from the cemetery. Ticket holders will be transported to and from the cemetery via shuttle van. Attendees should park in the municipal parking lot on Walnut and meet their shuttle vans at the tour time designated on their tickets.
