SUMMARY:Rochester Community Concert Band presents “Exaltations”
DESCRIPTION:ROCHESTER HILLS\, Mich.\, Sept. 26   The Rochester Community Concert Band is excited to announce the return of the band to indoor concerts following a 19 month pause due to the COVID pandemic.  The concert will be held on Tuesday\, October 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of St. Paul's United Methodist Church\, 620 Romeo Rd\, Rochester\, MI 48307. The concert is open to the public and free to attend.  Donations are gratefully accepted.  \n\n \n\nIncluded in this program\, among other works\, are "Olympic Spirit" by John Williams\, Verdi's "Overture to Nabucco"\, "Salute to the Cinema" featuring themes from some of the best loved movies\, "Symphonic Dance No. 3\, Fiesta" by Clifton Williams\, "Far from Home" by Julie Giroux\, and Scott Boerma's "Poem" \n\n \n\nThe RCCB is partnering with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra/Detroit Harmony Initiative. The goal of this initiative is to provide an instrument to any student in the city of Detroit who wishes to learn to play.  DSO/Detroit Harmony is running an Instrument Donation Drive campaign during the month of October. To that end\, we are inviting concert goers to scrounge their closets for any band or string instruments (in any condition) they are no longer using and bring them to the concert to donate. \n\n \n\nCOVID Precautions: For the safety of all\, we ask all concert goers to wear a mask that covers both your nose and mouth while in the church\, regardless of vaccination status\, and sit spaced apart from other attendees not in your party. \n\n \n\nAbout Rochester Community Concert Band\n\n \n\nThe 70-member all volunteer Rochester Community Concert Band is conducted by Paul F. DeRubeis and includes adult community members and advanced high school students from greater Rochester and Rochester Hills as well as students from Macomb Community College.
