DESCRIPTION:This year marks the 200th Anniversary of the Taylor family's arrival from New York\, founding a community that still thrives today. The Taylor family moved here for its rich natural resources   commodities in high demand for at least 12\,000 years. From bone tools to blacksmiths\, subsistence farmers to world renowned doctors\, this region has a long history of industry and skill. Explore stories of the past in this brand new exhibit!\n\nThe Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm is open for drop in hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 12   3pm\, with a Guided Tour of the 1840 Van Hoosen Farmhouse and the 1850 Red House at 1pm. Included with your admission is a self-guided tour of exhibits in the Dairy Barn\, Bull Barn\, Milk House\, Equipment Barn\, and Children's Garden\, as well as the nearby Stoney Creek Cemetery and our 16 acres of grounds. Come and share your afternoon with us at our site   listed on the National Register of Historic Places!
