DESCRIPTION:The Harmony in the Hills Concert Series Presents Organist James Kibbie \n\n\n\nInternationally acclaimed organist James Kibbie will perform Bach\, Mozart\, and other classical pieces on Sunday\, May 18th at 3pm\, as part of the Harmony in the Hills Concert Series. The recital will take place in the Sanctuary at St. Paul's United Methodist Church\, located at 620 Romeo Street\, Rochester\, MI. Admission is FREE\, but free-will donations are gratefully accepted. \n\n\n\nKibbie has appeared throughout North America and Europe\, including the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris\, Royal Festival Hall in London\, Dvorak Hall in Prague\, and Lincoln Center in New York. A frequent jury member of international organ competition\, he has himself been awarded the Grand Prix d'interpretation at the prestigious international Organ Competition of Chartres\, France\, and is also the only American to have won the International Organ Competition of the Prague Spring Festival in former Czechoslovakia. He is renowned as a authority on the organ music of Johan Sebastian Bach and has recorded the complete Bach organ works on historic baroque organs in Germany. His Extensive discography also includes a wide range of other repertoire recorded in Europe\, Canada\, and United States. His is Professor Emeritus at the University of Michigan\, where his 42-year Tenure included service as University Organist and Chair of the Organ Department. \n\n\n\nThe Harmony in the Hills Concert Series is offered by St. Paul's United Methodist Church and features the finest local and international talent in classical\, jazz and gospel music. Concerts are held throughout the year on various days and at different times to allow more patrons the opportunity to attend. Ticket Costs are nominal and sometimes free-will donation.
