News Release: 2/1/2019 PAINT CREEK CENTER FOR THE ARTS PALETTE & BRUSH EXHIBITION OPENING SATURDAY FEB. 2, 2019, 3 PM.

ROCHESTER, MI, February 1, 2019 - The new Palette & Brush Exhibition opens at 3 pm on Saturday, Feruary 2 at Rochester's Paint Creek Center for the Arts.  The exhibition introduces viewers to the beautiful fine art of metro Detroit artists who are members of the Palette & Brush Society.

Opening event activities include an award ceremony from 3:00 - 3:30 PM and gallery talk from 3:30 - 4:30 PM and includes light refreshments.  The Palette & Brush Exhibition will be on view at the Paint Creek Center for the Arts gallery, 407 Pine Street, Rochester, MI and remains open Monday - Saturday during Paint Creek Center for the Arts' business hours through March 9, 2019.

Awards will be presented for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place as well as Honorable Mentions as juried by members of the Paint Creek Center for the Arts Exhibition Committee.

The Palette & Brush Society was formed in 1934 as a government agency offering art lessons in order to provide jobs for teachers.  Now it includes members from all over the Metropolitan Detroit Area and showcases members fine art at two major exhibitions each year providing visibility to interested audiences, buyers and opportunities for commission work.

Paint Creek Center for the Arts (PCCA) evolved out of the Art & Apples Festival which held its first event in Rochester Municipal Park in 1965.  Since 1983, PCCA has been dedicated to promoting the arts and artistic excellence through cultural programs including exhibitions, studio art classes, outreach programs, community involvement projects, and the continuation of the Art & Apples Festival.  Annually, hundreds of professional artists showcase their work at PCCA.  Art education classes are offered in a variety of media for all ages and levels of experience.  Drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, and summer camps are the core of PCCA's programming.  PCCA is still best known for present the Art & Apples Festival which is consistently ranked among the top 25 fine art and design festivals in the nation and in 2018 earned a designation in the top 10.
