At the Men's Fund Giving Breakfast on May 14th, the Community Foundation Men's Fund will be joined by Oakland University Men's Basketball Head Coach Greg Kampe and Former NFL Player Frank Zombo to discuss the Fund's new purpose.
This year, the Men's Fund Steering Committee decided to refocus on supporting under-served youth through sports program funding, giving kids who may otherwise not be able to participate access to team sports programs.
Greg Kampe and Frank Zombo will share with breakfast attendees the lifelong impact that participating in team sports can have on kids. Playing sports is not just about the sports: it's about building confidence, finding joy, developing supportive peer relationships, and so much more. Playing team sports in childhood is strongly linked to positive outcomes as an adult. This is a mission near and dear to our Men's Fund Steering Committee, and to Coach Kampe and Frank Zombo as well. By making sure all kids can play, we are supporting not just kids, but the future of our broader community.
Come for the mission, stay for the great company!
