In the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the U.S., 38 planes were forced to land in the quiet town of Gander, Newfoundland, Canada. Nearly 7000 passengers found themselves stranded as Gander residents opened their homes, kitchens and hearts to thousands of strangers for almost a week.
You will hear first hand stories and meet the people and officials of Gander, and how a town on the edge of the world became a beacon of humanity when the world needed it most.
