Job Summary
The Estimator is responsible for accurately assessing customer painting projects, preparing detailed cost estimates, and building strong relationships with potential clients. This role requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, along with a strong understanding of painting techniques, materials, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting Site Visits:
    • Schedule and conduct on-site assessments of customer properties.
    • Accurately measure and document project scope, including surface areas, room dimensions, and existing conditions.
    • Identify potential challenges and discuss project scope with clients.
  • Preparing Estimates:
    • Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for painting projects.
    • Factor in labor costs, material costs, equipment costs, and potential contingencies.
    • Clearly and concisely present estimates to clients, explaining the scope of work and pricing in detail.
  • Building Client Relationships:
    • Build rapport with potential clients and provide exceptional customer service.
    • Answer client questions and address concerns promptly and professionally.
    • Educate clients on the painting process and the value of professional services.
  • Sales Support:
    • Assist with the sales process by providing valuable insights and information to the sales team.
    • Contribute to the development of sales proposals and presentations.
  • Market Research:
    • Stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and competitive landscape.
    • Research new products, materials, and technologies.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate records of all estimates and client interactions.
    • Prepare reports and other necessary documentation.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in estimating, sales, construction, or a related field. Experience in the painting industry is a plus.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
    • Ability to read blueprints and plans (preferred)
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Other:
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Professional and presentable demeanor
