LANSING, Mich. Dutton Farm CEO Jenny Brown of Rochester Hills has been appointed to the Michigan Council for Rehabilitation Services, representing disability advocacy groups. Her term begins January 28, 2026, and runs through December 31, 2028. Brown succeeds Trina Edmunson, whose term has expired.
“The Michigan Council for Rehabilitation Services plays a critical role in shaping how our state supports people with disabilities in accessing meaningful employment and independence,” said Brown. “I’m honored to serve on the Council and to bring the perspective of an organization that sees, every day, what’s possible when individuals are given the right opportunities, support, and dignity in the workplace.”
Brown added, “At Dutton Farm, we believe work builds confidence, community, and purpose. Our role is to create pathways that allow people of all abilities to contribute, grow, and be valued. I look forward to helping strengthen policies and programs that reflect those same values across Michigan.”
Brown is the chief executive officer of Dutton Farm, a nonprofit organization that provides workforce training and employment opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Under her leadership, Dutton Farm has been recognized nationally for its inclusive employment model, including receiving the 2017 National Down Syndrome Congress Employment Award.
Brown holds a Bachelor of Science in sociology and political science from Oakland University and brings extensive experience in disability advocacy, workforce development, and nonprofit leadership to the Council.
The Michigan Council for Rehabilitation Services reviews, analyzes, and advises Michigan’s rehabilitation programs and services and provides guidance to the department director and Governor. The Council works in partnership with Michigan Rehabilitation Services and the Bureau of Services for Blind Persons within the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity.
Brown’s appointment was announced by Gretchen Whitmer on January 28.
