2019 Grand Marshal
Please help us nominate our 2019 Grand Marshal! The Grand Marshall will lead the historic Rochester Hometown Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 8, 2019.
In its 64th year, it is the largest Christmas Parade in Michigan with an average of 3,000 parade participants! Each participant represents a collaborative effort among families, businesses, non-profit and civic organizations as well as schools and universities. The parade will take place down Main Street and is presented by Chief Financial Credit Union and Rochester University.
In 2013, the Hometown Christmas Parade boasted over 70,000 loyal spectators, community organizations, floats, units of marchers, drill teams, marching bands, clowns, equestrian groups, fire trucks and Michigan dignitaries.
In years past, the chosen Grand Marshals have been; 2013-John & Mary Modetz, 2014-Bill Fox, 2015-Rod & Sue Wilson, 2016-Dr. Roger & Mary Jo Byrd, 2017-Steve and Nancy Benedettini and 2018-Dr. Bradley and Mrs. Barbara Barnes.
How can I select The Grand Marshal? The Grand Marshal is selected by the Rochester Hometown Christmas Parade Committee and will be announced on August 1, 2019! Those interested in nominating the parade Grand Marshal should complete the nomination form along with three paragraphs detailing the nominee’s community involvement and their contributions to the greater Rochester community.
Nominees should be individuals, or a couple, who stand out for their generous gift of time and commitment to making a positive impact on the community. Nominees must be a resident of Rochester, Rochester Hills, or Oakland Township! The chosen Grand Marshall will be expected to participate in the Grand Marshal Gala on Thursday, December 5, 2019 and in the parade on Sunday, December 8, 2019.
Nominations are due by July 8, 2019. Forms and materials should be returned to the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce at 71 Walnut St. Suite 110, Rochester, MI 48307 or by email to info@rrc-mi.com. There is also a link to an online form on rrc-mi.com.
