Local Youth Partners with RRC To Help Struggling Businesses
Recently, local high school senior Nicholas Laurencelle approached the Chamber with a passion to help struggling businesses. Seeing a great opportunity for assisting Laurencelle with his goal and giving additional professional development by pairing him with Chamber Ambassador and Young Professional Kyle Johnson of Merrill Lynch, the Chamber provided business resources for the pair to hand out in the Auburn Corridor.
Nicholas explains, "I know I was able to make an impact for some of them. Kyle and I were able to talk to all open businesses on the Auburn corridor and I hit a couple extra ones that I knew where struggling. Going to some of these businesses has opened my eyes to realize that COVID has nearly destroyed the economy." Nicholas and Kyle met with over 15 local businesses and their owners. Nicholas adds, "I could see the frustration, anger, and fear in their eyes and their voice, which made me feel sympathetic for not just those specific businesses, but all businesses in America. I hope some of the businesses Kyle and I visited were able to gain some hope from the information we shared with them. I am so glad I got this amazing opportunity with you all."
The Chamber is proud to support our youth, community members, and area businesses. Our mission is to provide leadership and resources in order to advance business development in partnership with civic, cultural, and educational interests for the benefit of its members and the community.
