November Ambassador of the Month - Tobi Russell



Tobi Russell is the Director of Rochester Area Counseling Services, a private practice made up of six fantastic clinicians. Tobi has been a counselor for over 20 years. She received her Master of Science degree in clinical psychology from Eastern Michigan University and received a Master of Arts degree in counseling from Oakland University. She is currently a doctoral candidate at Oakland University in the counseling department. She counsels individuals from age 6 and up dealing with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, PTSD/trauma, self-injury, eating disorders, child adjustment to divorce, domestic violence and behavioral acting out, chronic health conditions and assisting individuals with understanding the mind/body connection.

 
Tobi participates with organizations in and around the Rochester area. She is a member of the 52-3 District Court Sobriety Court Team and 52-4 District Court Sobriety Court Team. She is an advisory board member with Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital. Previously, she was on the board of directors for Rochester Area Youth Assistance (RAYA) as the family education chair. She was the secretary of the Rochester Auburn Hills Community Coalition and past president of the North Oakland Community Coalition. In addition to presenting throughout the county and state on topics related to children and adolescents, substance abuse, trauma, self-injury and eating disorders; she has appeared on the Channel 4 morning show discussing issues of traumatic abuse and neglect and substance abuse. 
 
Tobi loves being an Ambassador for the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce because she can share all the benefits of being in the Chamber with new members. She enjoys having the opportunity to celebrate with business owners at ribbon cuttings and discussing different networking options to help new members get the word out about their business. In addition to highlighting Coffee Talk, Winedown Wednesday, and Member Orientation, one of her favorite networking tips is to tell members to join a PCN group. She loves her PCN Group #11 because of the tremendous business relationships and friendships she has made from participating in that group.
