What are you learning?

What are you learning?

We asked each of our staff members to share what they are learning in quarantine. We are so grateful to have such a positive, encouraging, and uplifting team! Take a few minutes to reflect on their words and what you may be learning as well.

Alaina, President
I am learning that if you stay positive in a negative situation... you win! And to always bring your own sunshine!

Maggie, Vice President
"There is always a rainbow after the rain." Things I have learned through out this crisis:

  • I am definitely a people person… I really miss all our members!
  • I have found an inner strength to be there for my family and friends.
  • Our community is so great! The outpouring of support for our front line heroes and businesses has been something that I have never seen before. The Rochester area is truly a family.

Jill, Director of Membership Engagement
If you stay positive in a negative situation, you win. Always bring your own sunshine!

Carol, Director of Finance & Operations
So, if there’s one thing I’ve learned from this experience, it’s that we’re not “all in the same boat”.  We’re all in the same storm, but some of us are on cruise ships and barely feel the waves, while others are in sinking kayaks. There are no simple answers and we have to listen to each other and work together.

Michelle, Digital Marketing Strategist
"No act, no matter how small, is ever wasted." Aesop
I am learning that everyone can make a difference. There is no act too small that doesn't matter. From homemade rainbows in windows to Takeout Tuesday - We need to know there are things we can do to better our community, love our neighbors, and make a difference.

Corey, Administrative Specialist
Prioritizing is more important than ever. Some tasks are still time sensitive so making sure those are done first is crucial. Also, discipline is a well needed trait. Distractions in the house (food, my dog, spring cleaning) all play a factor for my attention. However, sometimes that works as motivation. The sooner the work is done, the more immediately I can play with my dog!

The Chamber staff are each learning, growing, and developing personally through this pandemic.
