Mental health and physical health are topics that are top of mind for workplaces, organizations, families, and schools right now and linking them together is very important. Easterseals Michigan wanted to create a community-wide movement to help meet the needs of people and focus on total health for those around us. Our “Mental Health IS Health” campaign will focus on practicing self-care and creating a happy and healthy work-life integration!

We plan to distribute 400 free toolkits to coordinators within each organization that will participate in our Mental Health Awareness Week. This turn-key toolkit is meant to inspire the group and select activities that work best for them throughout the week, no matter where people are. We collaborated with our talented Easterseals Michigan clinical staff, amazing community supporters, and health partners to put together a top-quality toolkit that includes a powerful resource guide and self-care items. In our resource guide, we plan to include information in the following areas: mental health/self-care, physical activity/preventive care, healthy eating, social wellness, power of giving back, and financial wellness. We plan to distribute these boxes throughout the month of April, into May, as well as electronically share the resource guide. This will be a great way to give back to those that are still struggling as we head into the third year of COVID-19 with a message of hope for a brighter future.
