Full Tuition Scholarships - OU's Nonprofit Management Certificate Program - Deadline July 2

ROCHESTER, Mich.- June 10, 2026 — Oakland University’s Nonprofit Management Certificate Program (NPMC) is offering four full-tuition scholarships supported by generous funding from First State Bank Michigan and Consumers Energy. The application window remains open through July 2. Michigan-based nonprofit professionals are eligible.

Designed for nonprofit professionals with a minimum 2 years of experience, Oakland University’s fully virtual / asynchronous NPMC Program equips participants with practical skills and leadership knowledge to strengthen nonprofit organizations and communities.

The 11-month, six-course program runs from September through July and meets online Tuesday evenings from 6–9 p.m., making it accessible for working professionals across Michigan and beyond.

Now entering our eleventh year, the NPMC curriculum is taught by experienced nonprofit practitioners and covers essential topics including nonprofit governance, fund development, performance evaluation, setting and managing goals and metrics with limited resources, financial management, human resource, leadership, and communications.
In addition to the professional certificate, participants may also earn general Continuing Education Units (CEUs), as well as Social Work CEUs for all six courses.

A hallmark of the program is its strong cohort model, which fosters meaningful networking, peer learning, and long-term professional connections among nonprofit professionals from a wide variety of organizations and sectors.
“The relationships participants build throughout the program often become one of the most valuable aspects of the experience,” said program instructor, Susan Harding, CEO of Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency (OLHSA). “The cohort environment creates opportunities for collaboration, support, and professional growth that extend well beyond the classroom.”

The scholarship opportunities made possible by First State Bank and Consumers Energy are intended to help reduce financial barriers for Michigan-based nonprofit professionals committed to their professional development in order to better serve their communities.
