Chartered in the 1990s, the Motor City Metro Chorus, City Lights was re-founded in 2018 as a premier men’s chorus specializing in the barbershop style. The audition-based ensemble prides itself on representing the pillars of brotherhood, vulnerability and dedication through the way they carry themselves as human beings and in interactions with the greater-Detroit community. The chorus regularly competes in the Barbershop Harmony Society’s district and international-level contests, and has placed in the top 10 choruses worldwide for the past two years, placing as high as 7th in 2024.
Offered by St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, the Harmony in the Hills Concert Series presents the finest national and international talent in classical, jazz and gospel music throughout the year. Under the artistic direction of Dr. Seung Hee Cho, Director of Music, the series offers performances on various days and times to welcome a broad audience.
