Jazz Fest Coming to Rochester

Joe Chila, Professional Percussionist, owner of JCs Drummin Music and the Rochester School of Music Rhythm & Groove is passionate about drums and drumming, but also Jazz Music. He has performed in many Jazz venues, including the Montreux Detroit Jazz Fest and Michigan Jazz fest. Now wants to bring some of Detroit's Jazz musicians to Rochester!

Generally Jazz Fest season runs the summer months concluding with the Montreux Detroit's Fest Labor day. JC is extending the season. September 29h, 2024 is the day. PAmerican legion Hall at 3rd and Walnut. We have a swingin’ trio, the “C Notes” opening at 1:00pm. Followed by Tony DiMarira’s TNT Big Band. Joe is the drummer with this great band playing classics from the Count Basie Orchestra, Buddy Rich Band, Woody Herman Big Band and much more. The day will finish with an Afro Cuban group - and a few surprises.

We're Looking for BBQ Food Truck catering service, as well as any business or individuals that would like to donate to help cover the musicians and other expenses, like sound, musical equipment rental, water beverages, etc.
