Little Bean Cafe Opens Cozy New Café in Rochester Hills, Inspired by Family and Community

Little Bean Cafe officially opened its doors on October 5, 2026, introducing a welcoming neighborhood café designed to bring people together over great coffee, good food, and meaningful connections.

The business first began as a mobile coffee cart in early 2025, inspired by the founders’ two daughters, affectionately known as their “little beans.” While spending time at the nearby splash pad, the family discovered the café space was available for lease, and the location felt like the perfect fit for their growing vision.

Today, Little Bean Cafe offers a comfortable sit-down experience featuring coffee, specialty lattes, matcha beverages, refreshers, pastries, snacks, sandwiches, and board games. The café was created to serve as the community’s “living room,” providing a cozy destination where residents and visitors can work, meet friends, relax with family, or simply enjoy a quiet cup of coffee.

In addition to its menu offerings, Little Bean Cafe showcases the work of local artists, makers, and small businesses through dedicated retail space featuring handmade crafts, art, and locally produced goods.

The café’s roots in the community run deep. Founder Makieh and her family grew up in the area, with family members attending Reuther Middle School. The location also holds special significance, as Makieh worked in the same building decades ago when it operated as a flower shop, making the opening a meaningful full-circle moment.

By combining quality beverages, a warm atmosphere, and a commitment to supporting local talent, Little Bean Cafe aims to become a gathering place where community members can connect, create, and feel at home.
