OPC Seeks Volunteers for Annual Fall Leaf Raking Initiative

The Older Persons' Commission (OPC) is calling on community groups, businesses, schools, churches, and families to participate in its annual Fall Leaf Raking Initiative, helping local seniors prepare their homes for the winter season.

The program connects volunteers with older adults in Rochester, Rochester Hills, and Oakland Township who need assistance clearing leaves from their yards. The initiative provides a meaningful opportunity for groups to give back while making a positive impact on the lives of seniors in the community.

"We are always grateful for the generosity of volunteers who step up each year to help our senior neighbors," said OPC representatives. "A few hours of yard work can make a tremendous difference for older adults who are unable to complete this task on their own."

Volunteer groups may participate on any date or time during November. Once a group registers and provides the number of volunteers available, OPC will assign homes for leaf-raking service.

Volunteer Groups Welcome

OPC encourages participation from:

  • Corporate office groups
  • Student organizations
  • Sports teams
