Rochester Community Concert Band May Concert

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI —The Rochester Community Concert Band (RCCB), under the direction of Paul F. DeRubeis, Conductor and Artistic Director, is proud to present its upcoming concert, “Americana”, on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. The performance will take place in Varner Recital Hall, 371 Varner Drive, Rochester, MI 48309, located on the campus of Oakland University.

This exciting program will feature RCCB flutist Jennie Spenner performing “Carmen Fantaisie Brillante” with her brother Chief Warrant Officer Jeffrey Spenner, Assistant Conductor of the United States Coast Guard Band, as guest conductor.

Music to be performed includes a diverse selection of works celebrating American music, featuring:

  • “Soul Bossa Nova” honoring the late, great Quincy Jones
  • “Stillwater” composed by Kelijah Dutton
  • “The Pride of the Wolverine March” by John Philip Sousa
  • “Armed Services Medley” honoring U.S. military branches and arranged by Sean Nelson
  • “Psycho – Main Theme” by Benard Herrman (from the classic Hitchcock thriller)
  • “Come Sunday” composed by Omar Thomas
The concert is open to the public and free to attend. Additionally, the concert will live-stream on RCCB’s Instagram page: @rochesterccband

Who is the Rochester Community Concert Band?
The 90-member all volunteer Rochester Community Concert Band is conducted by Paul F. DeRubeis and includes adult community members and advanced high school students from greater Rochester and Rochester Hills as well as students from Macomb Community College. The RCCB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt organization.
