Founded by Dr. Kathy Elias, an orthodontic specialist who has practiced exclusively since 2012, Shelby Orthodontics reflects more than a decade of diverse clinical experience. Dr. Kathy has served in academic roles, including as an Associate Professor at UTHealth’s Department of Pediatric Dentistry, and has worked in a range of practice settings—from small private offices to large multi-doctor specialty groups. These experiences have shaped her thoughtful, patient-focused approach and strengthened her understanding of both clinical excellence and practice operations.

Spacious, semi-private treatment rooms and flexible scheduling—including weekday hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and two Saturdays per month—ensure comfort and convenience for busy families.

A Personal Connection to Michigan

Michigan has long held a special place in Dr. Kathy’s heart, with many family members and friends rooted in the state. After returning in 2018, she met and married her husband, Rob, and has since embraced the opportunity to serve the communities she loves—now including the one she calls home.

Outside the office, Dr. Kathy enjoys running (including completing a marathon and several half-marathons), biking, reading, traveling, and experimenting with new recipes. She looks forward to another vibrant Michigan summer.
