Plaid Friday takes place November 29, shoppers are encouraged to wear plaid and head to Downtown Rochester for a fun day of shopping! Plaid Friday celebrates the diversity and creativity of local and independent businesses. It is a fun alternative to the consumer frenzy of ‘Black Friday’. Now in its 15th year, Small Business Saturday serves as the ceremonial kickoff to the holiday shopping season for small businesses across the United States. Shoppers can once again enjoy discounts and promotions in Downtown Rochester, for a full list of promotions, visit www.downtownrochestermi.com/small-business-saturday.
Once again, the Rochester Downtown Development Authority is giving away a $500 Downtown Rochester shopping spree. Shoppers will need to text SHOPSMALL to 866-603-4005 and then will be prompted to text a picture of their receipt from a purchase made at a Downtown Rochester business on November 29 or 30. The winner will be selected and contacted on Wednesday, December 4.
In addition to Plaid Friday and Small Business Saturday, The Big, Bright Light Show will be aglow November 25 – January 19. The light show will run nightly from 5:00 pm until Midnight. Make sure to also check out the holiday window displays in town from November 25 – November 4. Stroll and see each window display with an opportunity to text-to-vote for this year’s winner.
