38-year-old nonprofit honored for serving 3,000+ children annually across metro Detroit
ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – September 18, 2025 – Gifts For All God’s Children, a metro Detroit nonprofit serving vulnerable children and families since 1987, received the Community Excellence Award from the City of Rochester Hills at the annual State of the City event.
The recognition, presented by Mayor Bryan Barnett before an auditorium of community leaders and residents, honors the organization’s nearly four decades of ROCHESTER HILLS - The Rochester Hills Fire Department recently held its annual Fire Awards ceremony recognizing members for their bravery, leadership and commitment to public safety throughout the past year.
The Firefighter of the Year was awarded to Firefighter Cody Martell, who was recognized for his outstanding courage, professionalism, and deep commitment to the community. He has demonstrated exceptional dedication by consistently going above and beyond in his duties, including volunteering for extra City completely debt-free, now boasts second lowest tax rate of Oakland County cities
The City of Rochester Hills turned emerald for an evening as Mayor Bryan K. Barnett delivered his annual State of the City address on Sept. 18 in front of a capacity audience of over 500 guests at Stoney Creek High School.
