Deck Art 2025

Deck Art 2025

ROCHESTER, Mich. April 30, 2025 – This year, over 350 artists from all over metro Detroit as well as 50 Downtown Rochester businesses are participating in Deck Art 2025. In its fifteenth installment, Deck Art is a skateboard art competition and exhibition. Artists submit one-of-a-kind artwork using skateboard decks as a canvas. These decks will be on display in Downtown Rochester businesses beginning May 15 and will be celebrated with a two-day event on May 15 & 16.

“Deck Art continues to grow and evolve year after year,” said Jenna O’Dell, Events Coordinator at the Rochester DDA. “It’s expanded from an event that originally took place in just two downtown businesses, and we are honored that the previous owner of Deck Art, Linda Gallaher has let the event continue with the Rochester PSD.”

On May 15 & 16 participating businesses will be open until 9 pm. Attendees will preview Deck Art and be able to shop, dine and stroll through downtown. A panel of judges from Paint a Miracle (Rochester), and Paint Creek Center for the Arts will select one winner from the five Deck Art categories – elementary school, middle school, high school, college, and adult. Winning decks will be identified with a special ribbon.

Adding to the excitement, The Rochester DDA will hide a “Golden Ticket” skateboard in one of the participating businesses during the event evenings. The first person to find it and report its location to the Downtown Collaboration Studio (431 Main Street) will win a $75 Downtown Rochester gift certificate.

A list of participating businesses who will display artwork can be found at DowntownRochesterMI.com. All artists have the option to sell their artwork. Specific details will be listed next to each deck. For more information, please call the Rochester Downtown Development Authority at 248-656-0060.
