NEW THRILL, SAME CHILL – FIRE & ICE IS BACK!
ROCHESTER, Mich. December 13, 2025 – Winter fun returns to Downtown Rochester as the beloved Fire & Ice Festival makes its highly anticipated comeback on Friday and Saturday, January 16 & 17, 2026. Families and visitors of all ages are invited to bundle up and experience two days of frosty fun, thrilling attractions, and entertainment during this winter tradition, proudly sponsored by Chief Financial Credit Union.

The Fire & Ice festival kicks off Friday, January 16 from 5:00 – 9:00 pm, and continues Saturday, January 17, from 10:00 am – 9:00 pm. There are new and exciting attractions this year, including Snowzilla Jr.’s winter slide, Frosty the world’s tallest bounce house, and a synthetic skating rink. Activities are centered around East Third Street and Water Street.

One of the festival’s signature features is the display of ice sculptures throughout town. Nearly 40 “The Greatest Show on Ice” themed ice sculptures will be placed in front of businesses in town. Designs include a circus tent, ringleader, circus lions, and more! Guests can also experience a live ice carving competition on Saturday giving visitors the chance to watch the talented carvers transform blocks of ice into stunning works of art in real time. The carving competition takes place from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm in the parking lot at the corner of E. Third & Water Street.

To help guests warm up, a warming tent will be set up at East Third Street and Water Street. The warming tent includes food vendors along with beer and wine. The warming tent is sponsored by Rochester Mills Beer Co. A food truck rally will also line Water Street and East Third Street, providing a variety of delicious options throughout the weekend.

Additional highlights include marshmallow roasting hosted by the Lions’ Club in the parking lot at the corner of E. Third & Water, and then the weekend wraps up with a dazzling fireworks show on Saturday, January 17, at 8:00 pm.

The Fire & Ice Festival is free to attend and offers a perfect way to celebrate winter while supporting downtown Rochester businesses. For more information, visit downtownrochestermi.com or follow Downtown Rochester on social media for event updates.
