Included with your admission is a self-paced, interactive look at our community’s local history. Meet the Taylor-Van Hoosen families, check out Mastodon bones, local history exhibits and local videos. The guided tour of the Van Hoosen Farmhouse departs from the Diary Barn at 1:00pm, and you may take a self-guided tour of the Bull Barn, Milk House, Equipment Barn, and Children’s Garden, as well as the nearby Stoney Creek Cemetery and our 16 acres or grounds. Join the Stoney Creek Rho Kappa Social Studies Honors Society as we open the Stoney Creek Schoolhouse to the public for drop-in visits. Living links to the past, redwoods also hold powers that may play a role in our future, including their ability to withstand fire and capture carbon, to offer clues about resilience, and even to enhance our own well-being. Through the voices of biologists, artists, Native communities and others, we discover the redwoods’ scientific marvels and our deep cultural ties to them. It’s a story that offers insights about the value of our interconnections, and the promise of solutions that will help us ALL rise up to face the challenges that lay ahead.
