Rochester Lions Club is excited to extend an opportunity to local businesses and friends to participate in their Pins for Pups fundraiser. All proceeds from this event will go to support the puppy raisers program at Leader Dogs for the Blind.

Founded in 1939, Leader Dogs for the Blind empowers the blind, visually impaired and deaf-blind with the skills and confidence to live an independent life. It started with three Detroit Lions Club members wanting to help a friend and has grown into the school located at the corner of Avon and Rochester Rd. Eighty-six years later there are more than 14,500 graduates in 49 states, 7 provinces and 31 countries. 

As one can imagine, this require a tremendous amount of money since the cost of training one dog and one visually impaired person is approximately $100,000 but the cost to the visually impaired person is totally FREE.

Pins for Pups is a fundraising project initiated by the Rochester Lions Club to be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Classic Lanes in Rochester Hills. The Rochester Lions Club is in need of individual and corporate sponsors and raffle prize donations and would appreciate your participation in their event. 

Without the Puppy Raiser program and those loveable pups, there would not be a Leader Dog program. Pins for Pups will help support the first and very important stage of the Leader Dogs for the Blind program, the puppies.

Leader Dogs for the Blind is 100% philanthropically funded and relies on the generosity of people like you who share the mission to empower people who are blind to change their lives through independent travel.
