The Harmony in the Hills Lenten Concert Series
Opens with Trumpeter Amanda Ross
Trumpeter Dr. Amanda Ross, of Oakland University, kicks off the Harmony in the Hills 2026 Lenten Concert Series on Friday, February 20, at noon in the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church Sanctuary. St. Paul’s is located at 620 Romeo Street, Rochester, MI. Admission is FREE, but free-will donations are gratefully accepted.
Ross, is a powerful talent, passionate performer and educator, currently teaching at Oakland University. She is a prolific chamber musician with a strong background in jazz. Ross is Principal Trumpet of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra and has performed with many ensembles such as Erie Philharmonic and Ann Arbor Camerata Orchestra. She has appeared with the AEPEX Contemporary Performance and International Contemporary Ensemble for numerous premieres. She has participated in chamber festivals throughout the world, including Ensemble Evolution and Strange Beautiful Music and IX, Soundscape Exchange in Maccagno, Italy and Bar Harbor Brass Institute. She is the co-founder of Girlnoise, a mixed-chamber ensemble committed to celebrating the artistry of women in contemporary chamber music.
Accompanying Ross, is Dr. Seung Hee Cho, St. Paul’s Director of Music and Organist. Dr. Cho is an avid concert organist, chamber musician, pianist and veteran choral and orchestral music conductor. She has performed at many prestigious venues, throughout the world, including New York City, Italy and France, and is currently teaching at Oakland University.
She holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Organ Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of music with additional post-doctorate studies.
The Harmony in the Hills Concert Series is offered by St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and features the finest local and international talent in classical, jazz and gospel music. Concerts are held throughout the year on various days and at different times to allow more patrons the opportunity to attend. Ticket costs are nominal and sometimes a free—will donation. Harmony in the Hills is under the artistic direction of Director of Music Dr. Seung Hee Cho.
