NEWS RELEASE Rochester Community Concert Band presents ‘Summer Sounds’ The program opens with John Williams’ “Olympic Fanfare and Theme” from the 1983 L.A. Olympics, followed by a medley of songs from the musical “La La Land” arranged by Michael Brown and highlights from the James Bond movie soundtrack “Skyfall”. Classical musical gems include “Light Cavalry Overture” by Franz von Suppé and the aria “Nessun Dorma” from Puccini’s Opera Turandot . We are excited to have Tenor Soloist Daniel Greig to sing this wonderful famous aria. We also welcome back Dr. Jeffery Heisler, Alto Saxophone from Oakland University to perform a spectacular arrangement of “Georgia on My Mind”. Maestro DeRubeis will then lead the band in an American celebration to our Armed Forces with a special tribute that includes “Salute to America’s Finest”, “America the Beautiful” and John Philip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever”. There will also be Food trucks too starting at 6:30 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a fun evening of food and music!
